Rhonda G. Livingston
1946 ~ 2006
Rhonda Grace Livingston, 59, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006, at her home. She was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Boston, Mass., to Hollis E. and Dores E. (Hager) Polk.
Rhonda graduated from Wayland High School in Wayland, Mass., along with Roger E. Livingston, in 1964, whom she married a year later. Rhonda graduated from Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing in Framingham, Mass., in 1981, as a registered nurse and was employed there as a recovery room nurse and a step-down intensive care unit nurse.
Rhonda and her husband resided in Natick, Mass., for 20 years. The couple relocated to Port Charlotte in 1984, residing in a home built by Roger and family members. It was one of the biggest joys in Rhonda's life to see to completion the dream of her husband to build and design their home independently.
In Port Charlotte Rhonda was employed in the field of home health in clinical and management areas. As an author for several decades she pursued her genealogy interest, and in 2002, she published a legacy to her family titled "Livingston Is My Name" published by Gateway Press, with more than 400 pages of family information and photos. Rhonda was currently attempting to complete three additional family genealogies for publication. As a licensed amateur radio operator (N4KNF) she was a member of the America Radio Relay League, and the YLISSB. Rhonda had also been awarded A-1 Operator Club membership, and listed in Strathmore's Who's Who of Outstanding Professionals.
Rhonda received various ham radio and nursing awards including The John Hancock Business Award in 1964. Roger was the love of her life, soul mate, partner and best friend. They were inseparable and together in everything they did, whether is was fishing, ham radio or playing cards with their family. It has been said by many, "They were more like one person, than two individuals ... so close in thought and with a love for each other that few others ever have."
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Roger E. Livingston of Port Charlotte; daughter, Kristen Livingston of Port Charlotte; son, U.S. Air Force Sr. Master Sgt. Select, Brian R.
